Fight Dry Skin With These Winter Beauty Tips!

Even though the temperatures these days are slightly above normal, colder weather will be here before we know it. This is a time to batten down the hatches and prepare your skin for harsher times!

Winter Skincare Tips

What are you currently doing to protect your skin? Do you alter your routine depending on the season?  Do you find your skin dries out more in winter?

As a makeup artist, I am not only passionate about caring for my skin but also love advising you guys on the right products/routine that suit your needs.

'Hi Sheelagh,  Thank you so much for your skincare advice. It's only been a week but I can already see a difference in my skin. Also the Nu Skin scrub you recommended is amazing and my makeup goes on so much better now since I started using it. Thank you so much', Emma 12/11/15

Having a regular skincare daily routine is great but are you going the extra mile to protect your skin during harsh winter conditions? Here are a few extra steps to consider…

Moisturise more...

The combination of the cold temperatures outside and central heating inside draws out more moisture from the skin. By applying a little more face cream (especially at night) you will help rehydrate your skin and maintain a good PH balance.

Slather on the sunscreen.

Using an SPF every day of the year will go a long way in protecting your skin. Many people, however, think this is something that should only be done whilst on holiday but the damaging effects can happen all year round. I recommend a minimum of SPF15 every day.

Protect Your Hands, Wear gloves!

Your hands will be the next most-exposed part of your body. Wearing gloves during the day will keep your hands warm and the circulation flowing. At night apply a generous layer of hand cream and use cotton moisturising gloves (available in most chemists). Your hands will love it, trust me!

Hydrate For Health.

I know, I know….you are probably fed up hearing this but drinking at least 6-8 glasses of water per day will keep your body hydrated, and help your skin too! During these colder months I like to drink hot water with a slice of lemon. Great to warm you up and help flush toxins from the skin also!

Have A Facial.

Do you treat your skin to a facial every now and again? I would love to have the time to go to a salon but unfortunately my busy schedule doesn't always enable me to do so.

As an alternative, I use the Nu Skin Galvanic Face Spa system once a week. If you don’t already know; Monday night is my #nuskinnight then where have you been!?

I just love the convenience of this handheld device. No need to go to a salon, it only takes 15 minutes and it gives me the deep cleanse my skin needs. Plus it helps with anti-ageing. What more could a girl ask for!? It is particularly good before a special occasion as it will help your skin glow, ensures your makeup glides on and stays on longer!

Until next time!
