Terms and Conditions

Wedding Cancellations made by clients must be made at least 10 working days before the wedding date. Please note that deposits are non-returnable.
In the unlikely event that Sheelagh Powell has to cancel an appointment for any reason, then every effort will be made to re-schedule (where possible). If a re-schedule is not possible (for example, wedding makeup) then all monies paid in advance (less trial fee(s), if applicable) will be refunded in full and contact details given for an alternative makeup artist.
Special occasion makeup cancellations within 24 hours will incur a 50% fee. 
Client records: 
Records are kept by Sheelagh Powell for every client that has a makeup application or other treatment, as reference for future appointments and for Health & Safety purposes. These records are stored securely and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. All information held will be treated as confidential and will not be divulged to a third party.

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is payable in advance of a wedding in order to secure the services of a Sheelagh Powell makeup artist. Wedding/event dates cannot be held open without a deposit. This deposit will be deducted from the final wedding/event price.
Sheelagh Powell is fully insured by Professional Beauty Direct and holds £3 million public liability insurance to protect both its clients and staff.
Length of appointments: 
Guidance as to the length of appointments can be found on the Sheelagh Powell website or from the makeup artist, but appointment lengths may vary according to the treatment being provided and the client’s needs.
Minimum numbers:
Please note that Sheelagh Powell has a minimum booking fee and will only take bookings for a Bride plus 3 others (such as Mother of the Bride/Groom or adult Bridesmaid).
Parental consent: 
Sheelagh Powell does not conduct any treatment on persons under the age of 14 years old and requires parental consent for any treatment being carried out on a person who is under the age of 18.
Payment for makeup services must be by cash, personal cheque or bank transfer (by arrangement) and can be made in advance or on the day of the makeup trial. A deposit of £100 is taken in advance for all weddings booked. The remaining balance will be due 7 days prior to wedding/event date.
Products used: 
Sheelagh Powell uses only premium, high-quality skincare and cosmetics, brands such as Airbase, Chanel, MAC, Dior, Bobbi Brown, Arbonne, NARS, and skincare by Dermalogica, Neal’s Yard and Nu Skin. Cosmetics and products from these brands are designed to look good to the eye and, crucially, to the camera as well. These products are also chosen to ensure that your makeup lasts all day and into the night.
Setup times: 
Sheelagh Powell will arrive at the client’s home or wedding/event venue at the pre-agreed time, allowing sufficient time to set-up and apply makeup to client(s).
Travelling area and charges: 
Sheelagh Powell will travel to a client’s home or wedding/event venue within a 20 mile radius from Ashby de la Zouch without incurring an additional travel expense. Distances beyond this will be charged at 45p per mile. This will be calculated and agreed at the time of your quote and any additional charges added to the trial/wedding day fee, if applicable.
Any additional charges, such as parking and/or bridge toll will be invoiced to the client, and applies to both trial and wedding/event dates.
Vouchers are available in any amount you wish from £15 upwards. Please note these vouchers are valid for a period of 6 months from the date issued on the front of them. After this period, the voucher will have expired unless a special arrangement is made directly with me. These gift vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash. Any vouchers that appear to have been tampered with in any way will not be accepted as payment of services rendered.
Sundays & Bank Holidays
An additional charge of 25% will be incurred for bookings on these days.
Health and Safety
Should any members of the client's party become abusive, threatening, offensive and/or violent; we reserve the right to terminate the service without a refund.
For reasons of Health and Safety, we ask that clients and their party do not smoke during the makeup trial, make up lesson or makeup service.
